Focus on : PumpedUp, a startup supported by the CentraleSupélec Foundation

In 2019, Clément Ferré, an entrepreneurial engineer from CentraleSupélec, created his startup PumpedUp.

The goal ? To develop a manual standing wheelchair for paraplegics.

« PumpedUp’s technology integrates with the traditional manual wheelchair. Thus, the patient will have the choice to be in a sitting or standing position. The technology is developed with occupational therapists and is tested by active paraplegics to ensure maximum safety. »

Last summer, Clément received financial assistance from the CentraleSupélec Foundation as part of a call for projects aimed at improving the lives of people with disabilities through technical or organizational innovations. This financial aid allowed Clément to finance the costs of prototyping his chair.

Watch Clément’s testimony:

You too You too can support our student and graduate entrepreneurs!

In 2020, the Foundation devoted €315,000 to supporting CentraleSupélec startups and to all of the programs developed by the School to encourage and accompany the entrepreneurial spirit among students. Let’s go further together!
