It is with deep sadness that we learned of the tragic death of Samuel Coriat, a first-year student in the engineering program, which occurred on April 16, 2026, in Gif-sur-Yvette.
At 21 years old, Samuel stood out for his dedication, his reliability, and his open-mindedness. An outstanding student with a passion for mathematics and operations research, he had chosen to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics at the Polytechnic University of Turin in Italy.
In addition to his academic achievements, Samuel was also an accomplished athlete and referee. A former player for PSG Handball, he played for teams in Milan and Turin, Italy, during his college years.
To honor his memory and his achievements, Samuel’s family decided to establish a scholarship fund for students who are athletes or who are pursuing a dual degree between CentraleSupélec and the Politecnico di Torino in Italy.
Sylvain Coriat (ECP ’97) and Sarah invite anyone who is interested to contribute to this project.
