A major issue for CentraleSupélec, France, and Europe
In the face of an increasingly unstable world, France and Europe must succeed in strengthening their capacity for innovation and reindustrialization.
European technological sovereignty is one of the key pillars of the School’s 2023–2032 strategic plan. In its own way, it is already playing a role in this essential transformation by implementing strategic projects with very concrete objectives:
Accelerating the Energy Transition
The Advanced Energy Research Center (AERC) will be launched in 2027 to provide CentraleSupélec with a testing platform—the only one of its kind in Europe—dedicated to experimenting with innovative energy systems on the MWe scale.
The AERC will provide us with the scientific, industrial, and human resources needed to design, test, and deploy the energy systems of the future in France.
Supporting Innovation in Cybersecurity
As part of the cybersecurity program, students learn how to audit and analyze secure systems, design new ones, and detect and respond to security incidents.
To establish our defense sovereignty, but also for more “traditional” uses such as cell phones or the reliability of electronic devices.
Maintaining Our Lead in Quantum Engineering
Even before the National Quantum Plan was introduced, CentraleSupélec offered a degree program in quantum engineering. Since then, the number of students has more than doubled, and there are now about 30 students choosing this path.
Some of tomorrow’s major technological advances will come from quantum technology.
