A look back at the 2022 Start Up Week

Last February, as they do every year, all first-year engineering students took part in  Start Up Week,  a full week dedicated to the  discovery of business creation, organized with the support of the CentraleSupélec Foundation.

890 students for this 2022 edition

For 5 days, divided into small groups and accompanied by professional coaches, all students must adopt a true entrepreneurial posture to find a solution to a concrete problem and lay the foundations of their future startup: product, market, growth, resources …

And even though only a handful of them may start a business later, this week is very formative, personally and professionally, no matter what career choices they make.

Made up of inspiring events for students, Startup Week is an event to be missed at CentraleSupélec. This year, two partners joined the school: OnePoint and Vestiaire Collective.

Also this year, Romain Marmot, Pierre Leurent and Etienne Vial, all CentraleSupélec graduates and co-founders of Voluntis, the first company incubated at the School in 2001, spoke about their entrepreneurial journey.

“The goal is not to create a startup at any cost, but to become aware of all facets of initiative, creation and innovation.”

Many award-winning companies

What better way to get inspired than to follow the example of your peers?  Start Up Week was the occasion for the  CentraleSupélec Foundation  to award 5 grants to support the creation of new businessesto promising student projects.

For the third consecutive year,  Yvon Gattaz, founder of Radiall and CentraleSupélec alumnus, also presented the Yvon Gattaz  “Start is good, up is better”  award, dedicated to mid-sized companies.  This year, Damian Py (CentraleSupélec 2017), founder of Daan Tech , which designed the BOB mini dishwasher,  100% made in France, won the award.

Finally, at the end of this rich week, 4 student projects were awarded by the jury, in the categories ” Jury and Student Prize “, ” Genius Student Association Prize “, ” Impact Prize ” and ” Audacity Prize “.

You too You too can support our student and graduate entrepreneurs!

In 2020, the Foundation devoted €315,000 to supporting CentraleSupélec startups and to all of the programs developed by the School to encourage and accompany the entrepreneurial spirit among students. Let’s go further together!
