To mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America, which will be celebrated in 2026, the U.S. Embassy in France is launching America250 France, an official initiative designed to commemorate this historic anniversary.
Throughout 2026, America250 France will feature a series of cultural, educational, and diplomatic events and projects that will also celebrate France’s contribution to the independence of the United States.
Generation250: An Ambitious Mobility Scholarship Program for Students
This program will offer 50 scholarships to French undergraduate students to spend a semester at an American university. Generation250 will then be made a permanent program, with 20 scholarships awarded each year thereafter. These mobility scholarships cover transportation, tuition, and housing costs.
Through Generation250, the United States and France are reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening student mobility, promoting intercultural dialogue, and supporting the emergence of a new generation of young Franco-American leaders.
The application timeline and selection criteria will be announced in the spring of 2026.
